Art I |
Art I is survey of art for the beginner consisting of basic art skills that expose the student to the world of art and allows them to become more informed about art. Art I students learn drawing, painting, and design. A variety of media will explored such as paint, charcoal, watercolors, pencil, fibers, marker, and crayon. Emphasis is placed on design throughout the course. Students develop respect for the transitions and contributions of diverse cultures by analyzing artistic styles and historic periods. A list of art supples will be provided, cost to be approximately $30 to $50. |

Drawing II, III, IV |

Advanced Art II, III, and IV Drawing develops problem solving and technical skills by experimenting with graphite, charcoal, inks, pastels, and conte crayons. Different forms of drawing including drawing mass, sketching, contour, and gesture in realistic and abstract styles. There is an emphasis on life drawing and the study of perspective as well as compostion. Although primarily a drawing class, there will be some instruction in painting. Students will also have an appreciation of the history and purpose of drawing in preparation for advanced coursework. A list of art supplies to be purchased by the student will be provided. Minimum cost to be $30.00. | |
