Welcome back for the 2008-2009 school year!
This website is designed for students and parents as a reference for schedules, notes, and homework assignments.Class schedules are labeled by subject and homework assignments are listed on the calendar for the subject.These pages are updated each week. Notes and worksheets are uploaded as possible to the site so that students who are absent can retrieve them before coming back to class.
If you have questions you can contact me at 936-597-6401.
My Conference hours are:
A and B days - 11:20 am to 12:55 pm
Students will be given a hard copy of the policies and procedures, cheating policy, and electronics policy. Parents please sign each of these items and send them back with your student ASAP.
PARENTS- Students receive a handbook on the first day of school. This handbook has many important policies and regulations in it that help us protect your student while here at school. Among these regulations there is a policy about cell phones. It is a continual struggle in our classes to fight cell phone use during class. You may be surprised to know that students use cell phones for, among other things, cheating on tests, either by transmitting an answer or actually taking a picture of the test.
I have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy concerning cell phones. Students caught using a cell phone will be subject to any or all of the following;
1) Confiscation of the phone - phones are taken to the A.P.'s office where it is retained until parents come and pick it up.
2) A zero participation grade for the class period.
3) A zero on the assignment in progress at the time.
4) A write up for cheating.
5) A write up for failure to comply with school policy.
Students who do not relinquish the phone when they are caught using it are sent immediately to the AP office where they are assigned an additional consequence of defiance of authority.
Thank you for your support of our school. I talked to teachers from many other schools nationwide throughout the summer and I am convinced that we have the best students with the best parents in the country. I am looking forward to a great year!
