My name is Diane Martin, and I teach 9th-grade English (also known as English I) and Senior English (or English IV).
I graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University with a degree in English (first in my graduating class).
I began teaching English in 1979 and, and because of my husband's job, have taught in several states, including Georgia, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Texas.
I am married and have two children--a son in law school and a daughter who recently graduated with a degree in Marketing Communications. She is currently working as a copy editor at a newspaper. My husband works in marketing for a major oil company.
My family has also been growing recently. I gained a new daughter-in-law last December. She is employed as a speech pathologist. And I will gain a new son-in-law in June. He is a teacher of gifted students.
I am extremely proud of all of my children!
I love to play tennis and golf, boat on Lake Conroe, and go snow skiing when I get the chance! I also love sharing my love of literature with students.
