Hi! My name is Gailey Bolfing I teach in the Family and Consumer Science Department. I graduated from Baylor University and grew up in Waco Texas. I truly love my job. I get to see such an incredible side of my students because of subject matter that I teach. It is amazing to watch them grow through the year.

• Culinary Arts I is an introductory course for students to gain experience working in a professional kitchen environment, using professional small wares and equipment, while learning the principles of baking and pastry.
• Emphasis is placed on techniques and technology used in the foods industry.
• Students will learn safety and sanitation competencies, quantity food preparation and conversions, food storage requirements, weights and measures.
• Students’ objectives will be focused on practical application of skills and competencies while preparing a variety of baked goods.

Ready Set Teach |

Ready, Set, Teach! (RST) educational internship is a three-hour elective course. RST is perfect for students who are considering a career in a field that will include interacting with children and youth. It is perfect for those who may want to be teachers, administrators, youth workers, social workers, psychologist, and pediatricians.
Students will spend every “B” day at area elementary schools where they create and deliver lessons and visual projects under the direction of their mentor/teacher. Additionally they assist the teacher in classroom management and one- on- one student instruction.

Prep $ Parenting |

This course is designed to provide individuals opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in preparation to function effectively in the role of parent or caregiver. Content stresses parental responsibilities, child guidance techniques, parents as positive role models, parents as their children’s first teacher, and parenting practices which promote a child’s development, health, safety and well-being. Managing family crises, managing multiple roles of family members throughout the life cycle and career preparation are additional topics. Individuals use these skills to promote the well-being and healthy development of children, strengthen families in a culturally diverse society, and pursue careers related to the care and education of children.
