CX: Cross-Examination debate. A two person policy debate. A research intensive event that requires intensive preparation and practice. Debates are usually performed with a very rapid delivery.
LD: Lincoln-Douglas Debate. A single person, value debate. Not as research intensive as CX.
IEs: Individual Events. This includes Speech events such as Oratory and Extemporaneous Speaking. IEs also include performance based events such as Dramatic and Humorous Interpretation, Poetry, and Prose interpretation.
Cong: Student Congress is a simulacrum of the legislative process. Performers are judged on their mastery of parliamentary proceedures. |
