 Hello. I am Margo Fleming and am teaching senior and junior English classes at Montgomery this year. I have been teaching here at MHS since 1977. My experience covers teaching in New York, Florida and Texas,totaling 30 + years.
I am always available for extra help; the student just has to ask for tutoring. Monday has been designated as English tutorial day this year. The student may also schedule time for extra help before or after school on other school days. |

Senior English |
|
English 4 is a survey course in British literature with a touch of world literature. The student will move through the development of the English language,British literature and writing from the Anglo-Saxons of Beowulf through Shakespeare to Dante and the modern satirists.
The class will also cover vocabulary development,outside novel readings,writing skills,research techniques, critical essays, and college board test preparations. Writing essays for college applications and job applications will also be a part of the curriculum. |

Junior English |
|
This is basically a survey course in American literature from the early writings of Puritan settlers to modern authors.The class will concentrate on analytical reading selections from the various periods in American literary history, critical and research writing.Students will also prepare for the ELA TAKS test which is taken in the spring for graduation requirements. Preparation work will be provided for the PSAT test given to all juniors in October by the College Board.

Students cheating will be given a zero and a discipline referral.
