To All Parents of Athletes in Montgomery ISD Sports,

What is BEARBACKERS?
An ALL Sports Booster Club. This club helps with funding for athletic scholarships, improvements to facilities, charter vehicles for playoffs, banners, signs and end-of-season team celebrations for your athlete.

What benefits do Athletes receive?
Every year Bearbackers awards numerous scholarships to Senior athletes headed off to college. This year 21 were awarded and last year 22 scholarships were awarded. We have budgeted to award as many as 28 scholarships next year.

Last year Bearbackers donated to each sport (girls & boys) in high school $1,100 for the coaches to use for their sport. In addition, the Junior High school received $2,400 from Bearbackers; which was divided equally between the girls and boys sports.

We have purchased additional uniform requirements for the Junior High and High School athletes, banners in the gym recognizing past champions, signs around the facilities, the state championship golf sign at the High School and EZ Up tents for any sport to use.

How does Bearbackers raise the money?
Our biggest fundraiser is our annual Bearbacker golf and tennis tournament; which is usually held at Bentwater during the fall.

Bearbackers sell ads in the High School football programs annually. We sell these programs at all home football games as well as merchandise like T-shirts, caps and jackets.

And finally, selling memberships to parents of Junior High and High School athletes.
