Bear and Lady Bear Golf
Week in Review (Nov.10-14)


Our Bear and Lady Bear sub varsity golf teams were very busy this past week. The Bears started the week off playing in the Oak Ridge High School Fall Invitational at River Plantation C.C. in Conroe. The Bears played on Monday finishing in 14th place in the twenty three team field. Konrad Carlson was low for the Bears shooting an 87. Logan Schurr posted an 88, Kyle Beard posted 90, Grant Schroeder 91, and Drew Baier 91.
Two of our Lady Bear beginning golfers played on Thursday in the Brenham Beginning Girls Fall Invitational. The field was made up of beginners and the course was set to allow each participant to enjoy the competition. Most par 4’s played around 200 yards while the par 5’s were around 250. Lindsey Hutchings shot 54 while Megan Sweeney shot 56. These two girls are working on their games and have really improved this fall.
On Friday, our Lady Bear junior varsity and a couple of varsity players played in the Willis H.S. Fall Invitational held at The Links at Westfork in Conroe. The girls finished in 4th place with a team score of 401. Freshman Laura Lindsey shot a 90 and finished 5th individually while another Freshman, Kirby Sullivan shot 94 to finish 7th overall. Alex Williams, another freshman, shot 106 while freshman Paige Roberts posted a 111 as did junior team member Gabby Romero.
This was the final tournament of the fall for the Lady Bears. They will now be involved in inner team Match Play Tournament and MHS style Ryder Cup play after Thanksgiving.

The Bear White Team finished 5th at the Conroe H.S. Fall Invitational held at The Links at Westfork on Monday, November 17. Freshman Kyle Beard was low for the Bears with a nice round of 81. Senior Drew Baier posted a score of 82. Other team members and their scores were Corey Higgins 83, Shane Binding 84, and Sam Hochhauser 93. Nice Tournament Bears.
