Sideman by Warren Leight, placed 2nd Runner Up at the UIL State Competition in Austin for 2008. Sideman, set in 1953 and traveling to 1985 is a poignant memory play what unfolds through the eyes of Clifford, the only son of Gene, a jazz trumpet player and Terry, an alcoholic mother. This play reveals the turmoil in the family of a jazz musician as Gene's career crumbles at the dawn of the age of rock-and-roll. Be sure to support the MHS Award Winning OAP cast and crew:
